I carve relief patterns on basswood and my hands used to give out after twenty minutes. The micro-vibration action does the cutting so you are guiding it, not forcing it. Went two hours on a panel and my wrist was fine.
2 weeks agoCordless is the whole point. No cable dragging across the workpiece and catching the edge of the bench. Battery has held a full session every time so far, and it charges back up between projects.
3 weeks agoFive heads in the box and they swap over quickly, so you can rough out with one and detail with another without stopping the flow. I have used it on wood and on gypsum, both fine.
1 month agoStrong little motor and it does not bog down on harder grain. It is a detail tool though, 40W - I would not try to hog out a deep bowl with it. For chip carving and cleaning up tight corners in a relief panel it is excellent.
1 month agoAt 236g it sits in your hand like a fat pen, which is exactly what you want when you are cutting letters into a sign blank. Wear the eye protection though, the blades are genuinely sharp and chips do fly.
